20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
A Jules Verne classic, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a science fiction novel that was perhaps a century before its time. Be sure to listen to the one read by James Frain — he does a fantastic job. I think the most interesting thing about this book is Captain Nemo's personality. If you have kids, I recommend listening to this book while driving in the car (our kids loved it).
This is such an exciting story, and for some reason it got me on a nautical book kick. I followed it up with Endurance and Longitude.
